Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The Manager of Corporate Publications (MCP) reports to the Executive Director of Flight Operations. The Manager of Corporate Publications is responsible for managing company manuals and subscriptions.

Duties, Responsibilities, and Authority

·         The Manager of Corporate Publications is responsible for and has the authority to ensure the quality of management of the System Safety Elements outlined in the General Operations Manual.

·         Follow the procedures contained in the Corporate Publications Manual.

·         Ensure that proposed manuals and revisions are consistent and accurate with other company manuals using the Manual Interference Matrix.

·         Ensure that all company manuals and changes to those manuals are distributed through the Corporate Publications Department in accordance with the Distribution Process [FAR 121.137, 135.21].

·         Issue company manuals to each employee per the Employee/Manual Distribution Matrix.

·         Ensure that the company’s standard manual format is utilized in the production of all company manuals and revisions.

·         Maintain a master copy of all company manuals.

·         Maintain a database of each manual’s Distribution List. The database shall list each manual assigned to employees, contract facilities, and the Federal Aviation Administration personnel.   Please send resumes along with salary requirements

Position Purpose:  The Sr. Technical Writer is responsible either individually or with other team members for the writing of major portions of publication revisions, its contents, and business processes. Supports the complete workflow process to ensure successful completion of each revision cycle and distribution to technical publications. This includes support for various quality processes to ensure accuracy, ease of use and time delivery of each revision cycle in the Technical Publication environment. The Sr. Technical Writer will be working under limited supervision

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Essential Functions:
1. Consults with internal, external customers and Engineering to identify current materials necessary to create/revise technical manuals to support the department/corporate operating priorities. Provide input to management on new processes or technology for integration into the Technical Publication business model. Develops complex solutions to overcoming the technology/technical issues introduced by outside suppliers for incorporation into existing manuals.
 2. Conducts, reviews, analyzes, technical documents required to gain a thorough understanding of how complex systems operate and are required to be integrated into technical manuals.
3. Oversees the daily operation of the internal department workflow and business process affecting the project/revision cycle. Ensures that all workflow and business processes are followed for issues relating to producing and delivering technical publications and the Computerized Maintenance Program (CMP).
4. Works with management, other departments, and team members in the development of specific project data for incorporation into the publications environment.
5. Provides liaison with Technical Operations, Completion Center, Technical Operations, Production and/or Completion Engineering, Service Center to obtain the necessary approval for technical information prior to it release to customers.
6. Provides input to management on the development of complex new processes and workflow solutions to decrease department costs and or new products to increase department revenue.

Additional Functions:
1. Use experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
2. Perform other duties as assigned.

Other Requirements:
1. At least four (4) years of related work experience to include at least two (2) years of Standard Graphic Markup Language (SGML) or SGML related software applications experience and/or at least two years of experience with software applications used for the electronic delivery of technical or corporate documents. 2. Strong technical writing and communication skills are required.
3. Experience in the use of a Digital Camera desired, but not required.
4. Ability to read and interpret blueprint and Engineering Orders.
5. Must have a good working knowledge of aircraft tools, test equipment, vendor coding, parts nomenclature, maintenance procedures, and of aircraft equipment and maintenance.

Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in Aerospace, English, Engineering, or other relevant subject and at least four (4) years of related technical work experience required.

Advanced knowledge of all aircraft systems methodology. See Other Requirements in Job Description.
 
Degree in Electrical Engineering preferred.
Experienced in writing procedures from 3D Models.

    The technical writer will work directly with technical illustrator’s to develop ICA for R22, R44, and R66 Illustrated Parts Catalogs using Adobe InDesign software. The ideal candidate will be: able to work independently, familiar with large document layout and management, able to read blueprints, and familiar with ATA-100 or similar specification.

    Examples of responsibilities include evaluating catalog content for accuracy against engineering drawings, for logic of presentation when catalog is used independently or in conjunction with maintenance manuals or other service documents, for backward compatibility with earlier revision aircraft and components, for currency and completeness, for catalog agreement with stock availability, and permission-levels with regard to illustrations and ordering

    Position 2:

    The technical writer will work directly with technical illustrator’s to develop ICA for R22, R44, and R66 Component Maintenance Manuals using Adobe InDesign software, in accordance with 14 CFR Part 27 Appendix A (§ 27.1529).   The ideal candidate will have similar qualifications to that of Position 1, previous exposure to Part 145 operations, and successfully completed RHC’s Session l & ll Component Overhaul Courses.

    Examples of responsibilities are similar to that of Position 1, and include the preparation and validation of maintenance procedures for a multitude of components.

    REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:

     

    –         Must have strong design and programming skills, a strong graphics background, understand information architecture and have the expertise to maintain varied types of content

    –         Must have a diverse background in coding, implementing and supporting dynamic content

    –         Must have a deep understanding and knowledge of PHP, DRUPAL and SQL

    –         Some knowledge of Search Engine Optimization and Search Engine Marketing is a plus

    –         Some knowledge of Email Campaign Optimization is a plus

    –         Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently and with others, possess strong communication skills and have the ability to manage projects
