Aircraft Mechanic AH-64D (Electrician/Armament) RASM-E
Perform maintenance, authorized modifications and alignment on AH-64D weapons components, fire control units, sighting elements, communication systems, electronic and mechanical devices and instruments.• Perform operational checks, ammunition loading/unloading and weapon subsystems configuration changes for all AH-64D fire control systems.• Perform AVUM (aviation unit maintenance) and AVIM (aviation intermediate maintenance) tasks on the AH-64D helicopter to include component removal, installation, and the requisitioning of repair parts.• Perform inspection, troubleshooting, repair, rework, modification, maintenance, and preservation of the AH-64D, its systems, engines and component parts.• Identify, use and maintain all AH-64D common, special, and precision tools available. Use jigs, fixtures, tracking and balancing equipment, hoists, dollies, cranes and test equipment necessary in job performance.• Responsible for completion and maintenance of all applicable forms, records and reports using appropriate references and other publications of The Army Maintenance Management System (TAMMS).• Maintain cleanliness and general maintenance of the associated work area. Perform cleaning, preservation and accountability of assigned tools and equipment.• Operate motor vehicles, machines, and other mechanical equipment in the performance of assigned duties.
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.Satisfactory completion of US Armed Forces avionics school or other avionics trade school required.Experience• Minimum of three (3) years#8217; experience working on AH-64D Armament and Avionics Systems• Completion of US military tactical aircraft maintenance or technical school required.• Minimum of three (3) years#8217; experience in maintenance, modification and repair of tactical aircraft systems of the type being serviced and their associated components is required.Qualifications• Must be able to perform tasks specified in the Aviation Field Maintenance Standard Operating Procedure Manual.• Ability to maintain minimum required tools.• Must have the ability to read, interpret, and follow all wiring diagrams, drawings, schematics, and safety requirements.• Must have a valid state driver#8217;s license.• Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Clearance.Working ConditionsMay be required to work in areas that are noisy, dusty, and dirty. May be exposed to moderate discomforts, such as heat, cold and wind. This position requires normal physical functions. Work may require frequent bending, reaching and climbing. Work may be performed on top or under equipment in cramped or awkward positions. May frequently lift and carry items weighing up to fifty pounds and occasionally lift heavier items with the assistance of other workers. Will be required to comply with safety requirements of the Standard Operating Procedures Manual.
