Aircraft Mechanic I / UH-60
The Aircraft Mechanic I is responsible for ensuring that aircraft and equipment is functioning safely and efficiently. The Aircraft Mechanic I services, repairs and overhauls various aircraft components and systems including airframes, engines, electrical and hydraulic systems propellers, avionics equipment and aircraft instruments.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSTroubleshoots malfunctions in aircraft structure, landing gear, flight surfaces and controls, anti-icing, pneudraulic, engines, auxiliary power unit, and ventilation and heating systems.Repairs, replaces, rebuilds aircraft structures, such as wings and fuselage, and functional components including riggings, surface controls, and plumbing and hydraulic units, using hand tools, power tools, machines and equipment such as shears, sheet metal brake, welding equipment, rivet gun and drillsReads and interprets manufacturer#8217;s maintenance manuals, service bulletins, technical data, engineering data and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning componentsPerforms progressive inspections to detect and diagnose malfunctions such as burnt valves corrosion, foreign object damage, warping, wear, distortions, etc. Replaces or repairs worn or damaged parts such as carburetors, alternators, fuel controls, fuel pumps, oil pumps, etc.Adjusts, repairs or replaces electrical wiring system and aircraft accessoriesPerforms preflight, thru-flight, and post-flight maintenance inspectionsPerforms miscellaneous duties to service aircraft such as flushing crankcase, cleaning screens and filters, greasing moving parts and checking brakesThe Aircraft Mechanic I may be required to perform other related duties to meet the ongoing needs of the organizationJob RequirementsKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:Beginner to intermediate computer skills specifically using Microsoft Office Suite; ability to learn additional computer skills or software programs. Working knowledge of advanced software applications is preferredAbility to enter data accurately into databases.Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.Ability to write routine reports and correspondenceInterpersonal skills are necessary to work effectively and cooperatively with all levels of management and staff. Will also routinely interact with other crew membersMust possess effective oral and technical written communication skills to clearly communicate information to others.Ability to use general office equipment such as fax, phone, copier, scanner, printers, etc.Ability to follow a process.Strong professional customer service skills, including active listening, prompt service and follow-up.Strong decision analysis and problem solving skills; ability to draw conclusions and justify decisions. Must be able to communicate issues to management.Ability to learn and understand corporate policies and procedures and how they relate to goals.Ability to perform basic mathematical computationsHigh degree of self-motivation and the ability to work independentlyAbility to multi-taskClimbs on top of and down from aircraft using aircraft hand/foot holds, capable of lifting up to 25 lbs. overhead, on feet all day, walk up to 2 miles per day.QUALIFICATIONS:High School Diploma / Equivalent or FAA A&P LicenseCompleted a military aircraft repairer school for one of the following aircraft CH-47D/F/G, H-60A/L/M, OH-58D, UH-1, AH-64A/D/E, T-6. Repair course completed must be the same as the aircraft in the job title.A minimum of 6 years#8217; experience in aircraft maintenance or three years verifiable RDT&E experience in rotary wing aircraft Army Aviation maintenanceMust have the ability to obtain and maintain a Government Security ClearanceY-Tech offers an excellent compensation and benefits package.
