Aircraft Mechanic II
Candidate will be required to pass pre-employment, respirator physical, background check and drug screening.Skill and Knowledge: Shall have the ability to troubleshoot and repair complexmalfunctions and perform complex Organizational Level Maintenance actions in support of theassigned aircraft. Must possess a level of experience necessary to inspect all aircraft assigned,and possess one or more of the specialties below:Propulsion/Engine/Rotor/Transmission/Drive and Fuel SystemsAirframe/Structural, Landing Gear, Launch/Arresting, Wing/Pylon Fold,Hydraulic/Pneumatic, and mechanical Flight Control SystemsEnvironmental Control SystemsAviation Life Support Systems (ALSS)Avionics Communication/Navigation/Identification/ElectronicCountermeasures/RADAR and Weapon Control SystemsPower Distribution/Electrical Power, Instruments, Compass, Automatic FlightControl and Lighting SystemsAircraft Armament and/or Crew Served Weapon SystemsSupervises and performs requirements in accordance with established procedures. Performs diagnosis and corrective actions, disassembles, inspects, evaluates and accomplishes necessary repairs, lays out work according to technical instructions and technical directives. Determines what repairs, modifications and part replacements are required. Performs corrosion inspections, identification, control, prevention and treatment. Will be required to verify work performed by another for which he/she is qualified to perform.Will be required to qualify\certify as a Collateral Duty Inspector (CDI) and a Collateral Duty Quality Assurance Representative (CDQAR), as designated by management.Uses personal protective equipment such as air-supplied respirators, rubber gloves and other devices. Follows technical manuals, safety procedures, and OSHA and EPA guidelines to preclude personal injury or environmental damage. Working Conditions May be required to work in areas that are noisy, dusty, and dirty. May be exposed to moderate discomforts, such as heat, cold and wind. This position requires normal physical functions. Work may require frequent bending, reaching and climbing. Work may be performed on top or under equipment in cramped or awkward positions. May frequently lift and carry items weighing up to fifty pounds and occasionally lift heavier items with the assistance of other workers. Will be required to comply with safety requirements of the Standard Operating Procedures Manual. May be required to wear personal protective equipment, where applicable.
Must have a minimum of three (3) years#8217; verifiable experience preferably on military aircraft and H-60 helicopter, specifically. Qualifications Completion of military technical training or comparable civilian trade school is required. Completion of a military Aircraft Corrosion Control course or comparable civilian trade school required. Must be certified to perform specific tasks listed in L-3 Contract Field Services Standard Operating Procedures Manual, if required to perform those tasks. Physical Requirements: Must be able to climb ladders, stairs and portable stands and navigate these without assistance. Must be able to work at heights 70 feet above the ground. Must be able to work in extreme heat/cold. Must be able to work in the following environmental conditions: noise, vibration, proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, chemicals, odors, dust. Must be able to bend, reach, stoop, balance, push, pull, kneel, grasp, crouch, crawl, work in narrow aisles/passageways, and work in close spaces that restrict movement including aircraft fuel tanks for extended periods of time. Must be able to stand for sustained periods of time. Must be able to work primarily with fingers such as picking, pinching, typing. Must have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication parts at distances close to the eyes.Must be capable of routinely performing industry standard ambidextriosities required to complete tasks. Must be able to lift/maneuver up to 50 pounds. Must be able and willing to enter and work in confined spaces, such as aircraft fuel tanks and beneath floor panels with clearances of 18#8221; #8211; 24#8221;.
