S61 Helicopter Mechanic/Air Crewman
Initial training will be provided in West Palm Beach, FL.
Ultimately, this position is located on Andros Island in the Bahamas.
The Atlantic Undersea Test and Evaluation Center (AUTEC) Mission is to provide Naval Warfare Centers, the Fleet, and other customers with accurate undersea, surface, and in-air three-dimensional tracking data and other unique Atlantic test facilities. In support of Research,
Development, Test and Evaluation (RDT&E), and Fleet readiness assessment and training. AUTEC is a Major Range and Test Facility Base (MRTFB) and the Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Division Newport's largest single team project, providing both deep and shallow water test and training environments.
The Helo Mechanic/Air Crewman performs a variety of professional functions in support of Aviation Services on the AUTEC Project, Andros Island, Bahamas. This is an unaccompanied position.
Performs scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on the company helicopters.Comply with applicable FAA rules, regulations and technical data. Maintain aircraft log books, records and historical data as required. Prepares helicopters for morning activities and afternoon close out. Conducts launch and recovery operations as an air crewman. Conducts maintenance as directed on the company helicopter. All other heliport duties as assigned.
High school graduate or equivalent. FAA Airframe and Power plant licenses.Must have recent helicopter maintenance experience. Five years of experience in the maintenance of large commercial helicopters, Sikorsky S-61N preferred, other manufacturers experience may be considered. Must be willing to work overtime as necessary during heavy testing.Excellent oral and written communication skills. Must have knowledge of FAA part 135 operations and maintenance procedures. Ability to handle multiple work assignments, work with little supervision and work well under pressure. Must be willing to work shift work, 8 on 6 off or other schedule as required. Lift, carry, push and pull up to 50 pounds of equipment of varying types. Must be physically fit and be able to work in high heat. This position requires the individual to be eligible to obtain a US Government security clearance; US Citizenship is required. Must be able to reside in remote location with limited medical facilities. A valid US Passport and Driver#8217;s License is required.
